Facebook PPC is just one of the many marketing strategies you can use to leverage Facebook. Here in this blog post I will explain Facebook Pay Per Click or Facebook PPC for short, so you can quickly use it in your marketing strategies.
Brief History: Before There Was Facebook PPC Pay Per Click…
The form or Marketing we know as PPC or Pay Per Click marketing became popular in the early to mid 2000′s because Google offered it to marketers as a way of targeted advertising within the Google search engine. The actual name is Google Adwords.
It’s very simple. When people would go searching on Google, along with their search results there would be relevant ads that would be displayed along the top and the right side of the search results. These ads are highly targeted to whatever the user would be searching for. It is still like this to this day.
The only difference now is that it has become increasingly difficult to get Google Pay Per Click ads at a decent price. Google now makes it expensive for marketers using pay per click to send direct traffic to web pages with little to no content. Such as lead capture pages or sales letters.
Along comes Facebook PPC/Pay Per Click. Facebook is a lot more lenient when it comes to their Facebook PPC Pay Per Click platform. The prices for ad space are significantly cheaper and the process for creating and getting your ads approved is very simple and user friendly.
Facebook PPC – Facebook Pay Per Click Quick Start
1. Define what you are advertising and where you want to send traffic to.
Needless to say you need to know exactly where you want to send visitors to when they click on you ad. Usually it would be your website of Fanpage.
2. Ad picture, headline, & write You ad copy
Along with the keywords which we will talk about in the next step, the picture you play on you ad can make or break your ad. Make sure it stands out and also pertains to whatever you are advertising because if not sometimes Facebook disapproves ads for this reason.
You headline and body/copy should be something short and catchy which draws the Facebook user into clicking your ad. You only get 25 characters for the headline and 135 characters for the Body/Ad Copy so make sure you use this space wisely.
3. Define interest/keywords (targeting)
This is very important because this will determine who sees you ad and who will not. You do not want to waist Facebook Ad dollars on people who would not even be interested in your ads.
Ask yourself what kind of things do people like that would be interested in your ad. Try typing it in the interest of targeting section and see if something pops up. If it does, now you have yourself a keyword. Continue to do this until you get 3 to 5 targeted keywords/interest and you have at least an estimate reach 15,000 to 30,000 reach or more for you ad.
Facebook PPC Pay Per Click Advertising Is Driven By Facebook User Likes
When you like FanPages on Facebook this determines what kind of ads you see. This is why Facebook can be very accurate with there ads. They know exactly what each user likes and in turn can place relevant Ads in front of those users. This means your Facebook Pay Per Click ads will be seen by highly targeted Facebook users.
You can even make your ads more targeted by picking the sex, relationship, and education of Facebook users you want to see you ad.
4. Place Your Bid
Facebook will give you a recommended price they think that you should pay for clicks on your ad. Based on the interest/keywords you picked in step 3. Don’t go with there recommendation. Ive found that you can get away with bidding 30% to 40% lower than the recommended bid and still get adequate click on your ads.
5. Schedule, & Submit Your Ad
Schedule the date and time frame you want your ad to run and last but not least submit your ad.
Facebook PPC Pay Per Click is way less complicated than than Google Adwords Pay Per Click Platform. Compared to Google, Facebook Pay Per Click although still in the beginning stages still can be leveraged very easily to get traffic, leads, and make more sales.
