Although email marketing list building has taken some what of a back burner lately to other forms of marketing, it is still a great way to leverage the power of the consistent follow-up.
When you start building your email marketing list every new lead on your list means that you did something right in the initial stages of connecting with your prospect.
So if I’m doing something right why do my prospects opt-out of my email marketing list?
Here I address this question and a few other reason your prospects unsubscribe from your email marketing list.
Inconsistent Message
People subscribe to your email marketing list because first and foremost they feel that you have something to share that can help them. That’s the bottom line.
So what you should do is find your marketing angle and core message. That can only be found by looking deep inside yourself and understanding what your core marketing beliefs are.
Then deliver that message to you prospects and email marketing list on a consistent basis.
The more you emails the better. It lets your email marketing list know that you are in the game and are consistently abreast of the best strategies to help them overcome their problems.
The Bullshit Flag
Ok, this is a tricky one because we are all in the business of promotion and marketing.
If you have not yet built a relationship or credibility in the minds of your prospect be wiry of over hyped emails without easily assessable proof.
While your claims could very well be true it still raises the BS flag because the internet is filled with so much clutter and BS.
Your overhyped or “Profits With No Skills Required!!!” messages could easily turn subscribers off.
You Didn’t Deliver The Goods
Delivering the goods is the first stage of building a trusting relationship with you prospects. Whether its an ebook, free report, or training you have to deliver on what you offered when you enticed them to opt-in to your email marketing list.
If you break this email marketing list rule its is almost impossible to mend that relationship with you prospect no matter how good your email marketing list follow-up messages are.
Your Email Marketing List Copywriting Sucks
You could have the best product or services but if you don’t know how to communicate your message that holds the attention of your prospects you could potentially lose subscribers.
Lastly, I want to reiterate this again…
Don’t worry about emailing too much. Those that don’t want to be on your email marketing list will unsubscribe.
This is natural and it weeds out the curious tires kickers from those that really want to be connected with you and receive valuable information from you email marketing list.

When it comes to email marketing, it’s important to send out interesting and engaging content; something that will make them want to convert. After all, that’s the goal. If you offer something, like a coupon or discount on services, they are more likely to read it and take advantage. If the content is always the same without any incentive to open, it will be ignored.
Yes Nick those rules still apply my friend. Thanks for you input
